Modify existing images with DALL-E 2

The Edit Image action lets you modify an uploaded image using AI by describing the changes you want. It uses DALL-E 2, the only OpenAI model that supports image editing.

How to Use

  1. Upload an image to the message
  2. Open AI Actions → Edit Image
  3. Describe the changes you want
  4. The AI generates a modified version

How It Works

The original image is resized to a square (1024×1024) for DALL-E 2 compatibility. The entire image is treated as editable, and the AI applies the requested changes while preserving the overall composition.

The original image is preserved — a new image is created with the edits applied.

Use Cases

  • Adjust colors or lighting in a product photo
  • Remove or add elements to an image
  • Apply stylistic changes to shared visuals

Requirements

  • OpenAI only — OpenAI provider must be connected
  • An image must be attached to the message first
  • Not available when using Anthropic as the sole AI provider
